A Company focused on the root causes of Inflammation

Our original research was performed at the University of Edinburgh, where scientists discovered a mechanism by which the pathogenic bacterium evades the human immune system. They realised that this could be deployed to down-regulate the Complement System, and be used to treat diseases and disorders driven by uncontrolled Complement activation on cells, tissues, organs and medical devices.

Invizius was founded in 2018 to explore this Mechanism of Action, and applied it to kidney conditions and other applications. The company is based at Glasgow Biocity, where our team are able to conduct all key R&D work in compliance with clinical protocols. We perform key investigative work on how H-Guard® and other pipeline molecules may impact on the Complement system, neutrophils and inflammation.

Patient benefit is the goal of our approach, and we would like to pay homage to Alison Prosser, 48, who died in 2016 from complications linked to dialysis. Alison’s experience, and the memory of others who have succumbed to kidney disease, motivates our team to improve the terrible outcomes that have long-persisted for patients on dialysis.
